Axel is a Greek fashion company with a leading role in the global retail and wholesale market of women’s bags, clothes, shoes and accessories. Axel’s long journey in the world of fashion began in 1999 with Thessaloniki as its point of departure and the whole world as its destination.

Fashion’s and technology’s global trends, participation in all major trade fairs as well as the bright Mediterranean light are the sources of inspiration for the design of imaginative collection of clothes, bags, shoes and accessories. Inspired by the latest trends in arts and fashion worldwide, Axel offers chic and affordable total look suggestions to suit every occasion for women of all generations and little girls 3-12 years old. The collections are well structured, complete and flexible in order to provide the opportunity of endless combinations for every woman who wants to feel feminine and charming every second of the day.

THE COMPANY



Axel’ extraversion is the foundation of its business practice. With a steady international presence and growth and through its participation in all major international fairs, Axel has acquired an important role in women’s retail and wholesale clothes, bags, shoes and accessories global market. At the same time, it has managed to build a solid, trustable relationship with the Greek, female public.

With 13 mono brand stores and hundreds of business partners, Axel is a reference point for every dynamic, elegant and dashing woman all over the world.

TIMELINE



    • 1999 The first retail store of Axel is established in Thessaloniki, Greece.
    • 2002 The second retail store of Axel, opens in Thessaloniki.
    • 2007 The international presence of Axel, starts with its participation in Bisutex trade show in Madrid, Spain. That same year, the company begins its exports abroad.
    • 2009 The operation of the company's third store in Thessaloniki, Greece begins.
    • 2010 Axel lands in Athens with its first retail store in Chalandri. At the same time, its partner network in Greece and abroad, is growing rapidly.
    • 2012 Three new shops: one in Thessaloniki, one in Athens and one in Saudi Arabia become operational. Axelife - the bilingual free press magazine of Axel- is published.
    • 2013 One more mono brand store becomes operational in Saudi Arabia.
    • 2014 Its dynamic growth abroad continues with the operation of three new mono brand stores in Saudi Arabia. During the SS14 season Axel Concept, Axel’s youthful line, is launched.
    • 2015 Two designer outlet stores of Axel start to operate - one in Athens and one in Thessaloniki, Greece. A new flagship store opens in Kifissia, Athens with retail and wholesale action. During this year one more mono brand point of sale opens in Spain, Madrid.
    • 2016 Axel Girl, Axel’s collection especially designed for girls 3ys-10ys, is launched for the first time during the AW16/17 season. A new Axel store is launched in Indjija, Serbia.
    • 2017 Two more mono brand stores, the fifth in Thessaloiniki, and the first in Rhodes, are launched
    • 2018 Axel is expanding and opening another brand new store in Cyprus. The much-discussed Nicosia Mall selects Axel to redefine the architecture of its stores by making shopping a truly enjoyable experience for every woman.
    • 2019 Another Axel owned store and the first one in Crete opens it's doors to the public.The 3-storey Axel Store combines full and relaxing shopping experience.

 

INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE



The outward and dynamic business model followed by Axel since its establishment, allowed it to consolidate its international presence in only a short while. In parallel with its development in the Greek territory, the company established cooperation at first in Central Europe and following worldwide. At present, tenths of shops with Axel Accessories collections are located in the biggest capitals of the world in Europe, Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America.

With consistency and continuity Axel participates in the largest international fashion shows, through which it promotes its integrated concept, succeeding commercial collaborations significant for its further development.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY



Axel acknowledges that it should return a big part of its creativity, enthusiasm and resources, to the people and the cities that support it.

Together with its partners, it always seeks ways to reduce its ecological footprint and increase its social impact by means of actions, which by reason of actions concerning fashion contribute in the promotion of a sustainable model of business activity and social practice.

In this context, the company promoted the use of bicycle through the Axel Bike, which comprises its own plan and organized a contest through its shops and its e-shop, for the granting of 33 bicycles to the corresponding lucky winners. In this manner, it inspires a natural, less polluting and sustainable means of transportation for small distances, that renders cities less noisy and cleaner.

Every year, Axel supports charitable institutions with the creations of a series of calendars that it designs and promotes in all its stores. In 2014, Axel supported with particular pleasure the effort of the Orphanage for Girls “Melissa” with the creation of a calendar for 2014, and part of the earnings were offered for the support of the purposes of the Organization also by the placement of money boxes in the company spots of Axel.

In November 2014, Axel hosted an Exclusive Charity Dinner, where part of the special calendars’ earnings were offered to the mission of the Orphanage for Girls “Melissa”. In that context, well known personalities from Thessaloniki’s political, business and social arenas enjoyed a beautiful evening, while they had the chance to hear about Axel’s corporate social responsibility strategy.

In December 2014 the charitable Fashion Celebration Event was hosted by Axel, where part of the earnings were offered to the mission of the Orphanage for Girls ‘Melissa” and “M.A.Z.I.»

In 2015 and 2016 Axel supported the mission of the Orphanage for Girls “Melissa” through the creation of the special series of calendars.

In 2017, the new edition of the special calendars supports the mission of “Friends of Merimna, Athens-Thessaloniki” by offering part of its earnings.
